Handmade Jewelry Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before placing an order or using our website.

Welcome to JULS Art & School, where our art and school policies prioritize creativity and craftsmanship. At JULS Art & School, every handmade piece of jewelry is created with care, creativity, and attention to detail. Whether you're inquiring about our custom order process for a bespoke piece of jewelry, booking one of our creative workshops, or exploring our website, we aim for your experience to be enjoyable, transparent, and inspiring.

These Terms & Conditions explain how we operate, detailing the guidelines for our custom order process and what you can expect when using our website or purchasing our products and services.

By accessing or using this website, contacting us, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using our website or services.

1. About JULS Art & School

JULS Art & School is an independent creative studio located in Agia Marina, Chania, Crete, Greece. We specialize in handmade jewelry, custom-made jewelry, creative workshops, and handcrafted decorative items. Each item is lovingly created using quality materials and traditional handcrafting techniques. Slight variations are a natural part of the unique character of handmade work.

2. Order Acceptance

Custom orders are confirmed only after all details—design specifics, materials, dimensions, colors, pricing, estimated production time, and other specifications—are agreed upon in writing between the customer and JULS Art & School. A quotation, specific design discussion, email correspondence, WhatsApp conversation, or exchange of ideas does not constitute acceptance of an order.

An order is officially accepted only after:

- All details are confirmed in writing by both parties;

- JULS Art & School has confirmed acceptance of the order;

- The required deposit has been received.

Until these conditions are fulfilled, JULS Art & School reserves the right to decline or postpone any order.

3. Deposit and Order Confirmation

A standard deposit of 50% of the total order value is required before we begin the production of any custom-made jewelry, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The deposit indicates the customer’s intention to proceed with the order and allows production to commence. If a customer cancels the order before production begins, we may refund the deposit, provided that no non-recoverable costs have been incurred specifically for that order.

Production is considered to have commenced when JULS Art & School begins preparing materials, sourcing unique components, developing the agreed design, or starting the handmade production process. Once production has begun, the deposit becomes non-refundable. If exceptional circumstances arise before production starts, JULS Art & School reserves the right to decline or cancel an order, with a full refund of any deposit already received.

4. Design Changes

Customers may request changes to the agreed design before we begin production. However, these changes may lead to adjustments in the quoted price, production time, or both. All modifications must be documented and agreed upon in writing before production starts. Once production has commenced, any changes may only be accepted at the sole discretion of JULS Art & School, and only if they are technically feasible. If changes are approved, additional charges and revised production timelines may apply. If requested changes necessitate the creation of an entirely new piece or compromise the original design's feasibility, JULS Art & School reserves the right to decline those changes. Every custom design is uniquely crafted for each customer. We encourage customers to review all agreed specifications carefully before confirming their order to guarantee the final design meets their expectations.

5. Production Time

Production times may vary based on design complexity, availability of materials, and our current workload. For most custom orders, the estimated production timeframe is between 5 and 20 business days. More complex projects may need additional time, and in such cases, we will discuss and establish an updated production schedule with the customer prior to production commencing. While we strive to complete each order within the estimated timeframe, please note that these production times are estimates only and may occasionally be influenced by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If any delays occur, we will inform the customer as soon as reasonably possible and provide an updated estimated completion date.

6. Unexpected Circumstances

At JULS Art & School, we make every effort to complete each order within the stated production timeframe. However, there are times when unexpected circumstances beyond our control may impact production. Such events may include serious illness, accidents, natural disasters, interruptions to essential services, or other unforeseen issues. Should these circumstances arise, we will communicate with the customer as soon as reasonably possible, explaining the situation and providing an updated estimated completion date. If, under exceptional circumstances, we are unable to fulfill an order, we will discuss available options with the customer, including providing an appropriate refund when applicable. We pride ourselves on our commitment to open communication and work collaboratively with our customers to find fair and reasonable solutions.

7. Payment Methods

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all prices are quoted in Euro (€).

We currently accept payment by:

- Bank Transfer

- Card Payment (for in-store purchases)

- Cash (for in-store purchases)

For custom orders, the remaining balance must be paid before the order is shipped or, where agreed, upon collection from our physical store. This is part of our custom order process designed to ensure a smooth transaction.

8. Handmade Products

Every piece created by JULS Art & School is handmade with care, creativity, and attention to detail, reflecting our art and school policies.

The natural characteristics of gemstones, freshwater pearls, shells, wood, fabrics, and other materials, together with the handmade production process, mean that every piece is unique.

Small variations in colour, texture, shape, size, pattern, finish, or other natural characteristics are not defects but an essential part of handmade craftsmanship.

Photographs displayed on this website are intended to represent our products as accurately as possible. However, due to differences in lighting, photography, and screen settings, colours may appear slightly different from the actual product.

These natural variations contribute to the individuality and beauty of each handmade creation.

9. Caring for Your Handmade Jewellery

Every piece of jewellery created by JULS Art & School is handmade with care and is intended to be enjoyed for many years.

Proper care will help preserve its beauty and extend its lifespan.

To help maintain your jewellery, we recommend that you:

- Remove your jewellery before swimming, exercising, or engaging in activities that may cause excessive impact or wear.

- Store your jewellery in a clean, dry place when not in use.

- Clean your jewellery gently using a soft, dry cloth.

Failure to follow these care recommendations may result in normal wear or damage that is not considered a manufacturing defect.

10. Warranty

This warranty applies only to defects resulting from faults in craftsmanship or assembly.

The warranty does not cover:

- Normal wear and tear.

- Accidental damage.

- Misuse or neglect.

- Damage caused by impact or excessive force.

- Natural ageing or gradual fading of plated finishes.

- Repairs or alterations carried out by anyone other than JULS Art & School.

If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing defect, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photographs together with a description of the issue.

Each request will be reviewed individually and, where covered by this warranty, we will offer repair or another appropriate solution.

11. Repairs

We understand that handmade jewellery often becomes a treasured personal item.

Whenever reasonably possible, JULS Art & School is pleased to offer repair services for jewellery created by our studio, even after the warranty period has expired.

Repair availability, repair costs, and completion times depend on the condition of the jewellery, the nature of the damage, and the availability of replacement materials.

Customers are kindly asked to contact us before sending any jewellery for repair.

Repair services provided after the warranty period may be subject to additional charges.

Whenever possible, we will always aim to restore your handmade jewellery with the same care and attention with which it was originally created.

These materials help us understand the customer’s preferences, style, and design inspiration. By providing such materials, the customer confirms they possess the right to share them with JULS Art & School and that to the best of their knowledge, this does not violate any third party's intellectual property rights.

JULS Art & School retains the right to decline any request if, in our reasonable opinion, it would involve the reproduction of copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected designs. Our goal is to create original handmade jewellery inspired by our customers’ ideas while respecting the intellectual property rights of other artists, designers, and brands.
